For the BMW G05 X5 45E there are now two options available to tune the engine. See below for the options.

• ECU Remapping : One of the most common tuning methods involves remapping the Engine Control Unit (ECU). This process adjusts the parameters within the ECU to optimize the engine’s performance, increasing power and torque while potentially improving fuel efficiency. Specialized tuners can create custom maps tailored to your driving preferences and conditions.
• Performance External ECU Remap: Alternatively, performance chips can be installed to achieve similar gains. These chips modify the ECU’s signals to enhance engine output, providing a noticeable boost in performance. The benefit of this product is that the ECU remains fully stock and can be fully reversed to stock when necessary.

For the BMW G05 X5 50e, the ECU Remap will follow in the near future. Currently, for the BMW G05 X5 50e we offer a Performance External ECU chiptuning only until further notice. The External ECU currently achieves 550HP / 880NM, an huge improvement of +61HP and +180Nm compared to stock.

For the BMW X5 45E, the External ECU achieves 500HP and 800NM and the ECU Remap also achieves 500HP and 800NM. Both an increase of +106HP and +200NM

Usually, BMW ECUs from after 07/2020 are locked from the factory. This technique is particularly useful for unlocking features and functionalities that are otherwise limited or locked in specific markets. Femto Unlock is a method of modifying the software and firmware of a BMW’s control units. The process involves reprogramming or coding the vehicle’s electronic control units (ECUs) to unlock hidden features and functionalities that are restricted by the manufacturer’s settings. This means that by unlocked the ECU, you are allowed to chiptune and remap the BMW G05 X5 45E and 50E ECU. The BMW G05 X5 50E remap is still under development at the time of writing. For the BMW G05 X5 50E we recommend the external ECU. For the BMW G05 X5 45E you may need to unlock the car first if the car is from after 07/2020.
